Evonik is one of the world‘s leading specialty chemicals companies with participation in the energy and real estate sectors. For theShanghai branch we designed a new R&D building.
Main idea behind the design is communication. People of different departments have a need to meet and to exchange ideas. So we grouped all functions around a central core area. We also integrate the green idea into our design concept to get a low carbon building. Special attention was given to sun shading of the building. We select several kinds of eco-materials, make a good relationship between the building itself and the surrounding environment and so create a more comfortable working space.
