Food security is a big issue in China. So is the lack of good agriculture land. Together with our partners we specialised in Agriculture development.
The work on the conceptual master plan for the Caofeidian Agropark starts from the products and activities. For the Agropark this breaks down in four groups of activities: (1) plant production, (2) animal production, (3) processing, and (4) trade and distribution.
The middle section is developed around the water reservoir. The area is designed as an attractive landscape that combines all suporting Agrohub functions. On one side the area is very open because of the large water body and long view lines (vista) show the scale of the area; at the other hand the landscape that is designed has large green screens (compact rows of trees). The green screens hide the views but while moving through the area the views will come back and will change in a certain sequence. As a reference the Dutch “Slagen” landscape (Parcelled landscape) is used. This landscape has also an irregular pattern of waterways and islands.
